Pictorial Tour
As John mentioned earlier, good jobs and bad jobs can be done with horses, as well as with trucks and tractors. On the left, you see an example of one of John's good jobs. Notice how there is room to move, there are clear, clean paths to walk through, once John has left. Notice, in the middle picture, how close to the ground the refuse is, allowing for a faster biodegradation. Finally, notice on the bottom, the bridge built of wood chips. Unlike many other loggers, which truck in gravel to build these little overpasses and leave the gravel behind, John uses wood chips from his site, which will degrade in just a few years, leaving behind a free-flowing stream.

On the right is an example of a poor job. Notice how cluttered everything has been left and, in the middle, how high the brush has been piled. The first of the lower two images shows a tree which has been bent over by a felled tree. This tree should also have been cut down, as it will now yield little, if any, quality lumber. The bottom image shows a tree which has had its top broken off. It is now dead and will have a chance to rot, decay, attract diseases and detrimental insects, and, as it ages, become a hazard to people walking through these woods.
